Krav Maga is a practical and strategic system of unarmed combat and self-defence that encompasses effectiveness, efficiency and ease. This part-strategic, part-military defence system was developed in Israel by Imi Lichtenfield and has been continued to be used world-wide by law enforcement, military and civilian personnel.
Krav Maga is very easy to learn and maintain because it surrounds itself with an instinctive base telegraphing to real combat techniques. The systems methodology is explosive and very aggressive, reflecting everything from the very basic, intuitive defences to worst-case scenarios, under both physically and mentally strenuous situations.
As with any contact sport or Martial Art, bumps, scrapes, and bruises are common with what we do. But we strive to provide a safe training environment for all of our students. You’re welcome to come and observe a class to see for yourself!
The system is designed for men, women, and children of all ages, shapes and sizes, and is limited only in one’s mind as the body is subjected to exhausting, demanding conditions.
Krav Maga’s main focus revolves around techniques that are easy, effective and efficient. It is the Official Hand-to-Hand Combat System of the Israeli Defense Forces. Developed for the Israeli military, it is used by civilians and law enforcement agencies worldwide.

It isn’t necessary to register for our trial classes ahead of time. Simply select a Level 1 class from our schedule, arrive at least 15 mins early, and bring the following:
– Photo ID (if you are under 18 you will need to have a parent or guardian accompany you and fill out our paperwork)
– Regular gym clothes
– A change of footwear — our floors are padded, so shoes worn in off the street are not permitted in the training room
– A water bottle — we do not sell water onsite, but we do have a filtered water station where you can refill your bottle as often as you like
And you’re all set!

If after your class you decide that Krav Maga is for you, then we can get you signed up for a membership.
Everyone starts in Level 1, which takes roughly 6 months to complete. A large bulk of our curriculum is scenario based training. In order to get a good grasp on what you learn, we highly recommend training a minimum of 2 classes per week. However everyone is a different learner, and encouraged to go at their own pace. The higher up you progress the more detailed and demanding some techniques are. To progress through each Level, we run pre-tests for evaluation purposes, and afterward with approval from the Instructors, eligible participants will complete the Level 1 test to move on to Level 2 and so on for subsequent Levels as students progress.
Due to the currently overwhelming demand, private training is only offered to active members at our facility.
Weapons training and defense is part of the Krav Maga curriculum. Due to the advanced nature of the techniques, weapons defenses are not introduced until Level 2 – BUT! We do offer weapons defense seminars, which our Level 1 students can participate in.
Since Krav Maga is a self defense system, we technically teach Self Defense for Women every day!
We do offer one-off Seminars that run every 8 weeks and are open to participants aged 15 and up. They are 2 hours long and consist of self defense techniques for threats that are specific to women such as chokes, grabs, attacks from behind, and ground work. There is also a question and answer period, and a short lecture portion. The Seminar is very hands on, and the majority of the day is spent learning and executing the techniques with a variety of partners.
The difference between our Women’s Seminar and our Level 1 classes is that the Women’s Seminar happens every 8 weeks, and is a condensed version of our Level 1 curriculum (since the seminar is mostly attended by first-timers, we stick to the basic, introductory aspects of Krav Maga in our Seminars). They’re also women-only classes, and 2 hours long. So if you’re looking for more thorough, consistent training and are comfortable in a co-ed environment, then the Level 1 classes are where you want to be (plus, as a member, you can participate in all of our Women’s Seminars for free!)
Our Women’s Seminar is $50 + hst for non-members
A link to register for our upcoming seminar can be found on the homepage.
I am considering a career in Law Enforcement/The Military. Can I participate in your Force Training Program?
Our Force Training Division is only available to Sworn Officers and active Military Personnel. Students are welcome to participate in our civilian Level 1 classes in the meantime (our Law Enforcement and Military Personnel train in these classes too), then switch to our Force Training once they have made their respective career changes.
Our Instructors are all selected internally, on an invite-only basis. Our Instructors complete a rigorous 2 year apprenticeship before they are sent to complete their Phase Training. The entire process can take up to 5 years to complete.
